TESTIMONIALS

The Rowland & Associates Approach

We use Havening Techniques as part of a coaching programme (where relevant) or as a stand-alone intervention. When a client has an emotional or psychological challenge that is 'getting in the way', limiting them or overtly distressing them, for example exam anxiety, relationship issues, work/life stress, bereavement, addiction, anger management, low self confidence...... we may suggest Havening as part of our approach. We work with some clients solely using Havening techniques.

Havening can be used to deepen self-acceptance, increase self-confidence and strengthen personal resilience, as part of a coaching programme more generally. The results, as you'll see from our client testimonials, can be profound.

What is Havening?

Havening is a psycho-sensory technique that uses touch to generate delta waves in the brain. It works on the amygdala, the primative part of our brain that controls our 'fight/flight' response. Certain events and experiences during our lifetime may get encoded as traumas in our amygdala. When this happens, neurons in the brain change at a chemical level – they are no longer in neutral, but are on and remain on ‘high alert’. i.e. they are 'potentiated'. Havening helps potentiated neurons return to a normal, neutral state. Havening also helps create a resilient (vs vunerable) landscape in the brain, to prevent future events being encoded as a trauma or to strengthen general mental health and well-being.

How do we do this?

When we think Havening would be beneficial, we introduce the option, outline the technique and describe how it works to alter brain chemistry, i.e. by returning potentiated neurons back to a neutral state. In discussion with each client, we decide whether Event Havening, Transpirational Havening, Outcome Havening, Hopeful Havening (to name a few) is the best approach. We also get clear what outcome the client is looking to achieve and then begin generating delta waves through Havening touch.

Once someone has experienced Havening an added benefit is that they can perform ‘self-havening’ allowing deregulation of stress, anxiety and other emotions to be literally at their fingertips!

Who do we work with?

Some examples of situations where Havening can be effective:

Havening has been a profound help for students experiencing stress and anxiety in the lead up to and during exams.

Clients in positions of significant responsibility who experience an accumulation of stress or who experience a single challenging or unprecedented siutation that derails their psychological and/or emotional equilibrium

Havening can be highly effective with issues of low self-confidence, panic attacks, relationship issues, psychosomatic pain, emotional eating, phobias, addiction, bereavement.... and much more! It can also build psychological resilience in addition to 'self-havening' being at all clients' fingertips, once the basic technique has been understood.
