Alice Stapleton
Alice Stapleton

Alice is an extremely unique coach in that she is a young practitioner with extensive coaching knowledge and a wealth of coaching experience. She is an expert in coaching those in their 20s and 30s looking to find real meaning in their work and relationships. She specialises in working with young professionals who have the frustrating feeling that their current career and life path is not the right one for them but who feel incredibly trapped and simply don’t know what to do next. She works closely and creatively with her clients to really explore what their passions, motivations and dreams are, what options lie ahead for them, and how to go about achieving their goals.

In the past, Alice has coached individuals of all levels working in the legal sector (barristers, solicitors, clerks), professional services, marketing, learning & development, the fashion and art industry, and the public sector. She also has experience of working with those recently made redundant.

Alice is an incredibly supportive and encouraging coach who confidently uses probing and thought-provoking questions, tools and exercises to facilitate the individual’s understanding of their thinking patterns, behaviour, current situation and aspirations. Her coaching sessions provide a safe and non-judgmental space where the individual is intently listened to whilst being challenged when required. She brings positivity and clarity to the session whilst using humour and an informal approach to get the best from her clients. Alice is fantastically strong at listening to what her client wants from coaching and adapting her style accordingly.

With a background in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, one of Alice’s great strengths is the ability to identify and challenge distorted self-perceptions. She has vast experience of helping clients develop the confidence and self-worth to overcome the negative thinking patterns and core beliefs holding them back from getting what they want.

Professional Background
Prior to becoming a professional coach, Alice studied psychology at degree level, moving on to train and work as a Probation Officer supporting vulnerable individuals seeking to change their behaviour. Here she gained extensive experience in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and working with the Cycle of Change. She holds a Certificate in Personal Coaching from The Coaching Academy, and Alice completed her Masters in Coaching Practice from Oxford Brookes University in September 2011. As part of this training she has completed in-depth research into the experience of a ‘quarter-life crisis’ and how to work effectively when coaching Generation Y.

In addition to the above, Alice also has a comprehensive Marketing and Communications background within the legal sector and other professional services.

Professional Affiliations
Alice’s practice is regulated via the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), of which she is a member. She continues to develop her coaching skills by attending CPD accredited events run by the EMCC and other professional bodies.

Personal Interests
Alice is an active Londoner who enjoys running and cycling along the river in the sunshine. She is addicted to social networking, spending far too much time on Facebook and Twitter. She loves going on holiday, wishes she had a kitten and that she could play tennis better. Alice has a deep interest in coaching psychology and loves learning about new and effective ways of motivating clients to reach their full potential. Her real passion is seeing individuals living their dreams; seeing that usually gives her goose bumps!
